Wow, What a great time we had at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania. The grounds were breathtaking and the accomodations were top notch. We were surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, an awesome PGA endorsed golf course, and many friends from RTI whom made the trek from Findlay to take a well deserved break from the hard work that has preceded this year. I snapped up tons of shots just to try to encapsule what we were experiencing first hand.
Since there are so may pics, I will break down the post into 3 categories. The first will be the main grounds and miscellaneous poses, The second will be the Falling Rock area, and the Final installment will be geared towards the party. You'll see several buildings in the photos because the resort is spread across over 80,000 acres of land and encompasses several different hotels, condos, and houses that are available to rent. In order to get around the campus Nemacolin provides a shuttle service which is very efficient. While driving on our way to the party in the shuttle, I asked the driver if he had ever carted any celebrities. He said he had driven Faith Hill, and Tony Danza--which got a laugh. We later found out Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had stayed at Nemacolin only days before we arrived, and both President Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush are among the guest list roster. To say it simply, this is pretty much one of the highest class resorts you can find.
The resort is located 5 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous design, Fallingwater, and so one of the best builidings on the campus is designed to mimic this brilliant masterpiece. This building titled, Falling Rock, was awe inspiring and I couldn't stop clicking my camera shutter. We decided to hold off on going to the actual Fallingwater until my dad could accompay me sometime in the future, since we have always talked of going to view the home together.
The party was a fun time and the people of RTI are a great group. I can honestly see how this company has been so successful over such a small scope of time. The owner Terry has his feet firmly planted in doing great things for his employees and he continues to out do himself each and every year. It was announced that next year's trip will be either in New York City or Las Vegas. Meghan and I are excited about either one but if we had to choose....
VIVA LAS VEGAS!
